You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Greetings, and welcome to our new home. Whether you are a long-time BCDB member or a new visitor, there are a few things we would like you to know. Please take a moment to read this, and it will hopefully answer any questions you may have on the new forum!

If you are a hold over from the old site, I think you will be happy we did this change. First of all, this new forum works... and it works the way you think it should! The editor works in ALL browsers, not just one, and then only occasionally. You want a picture in a post, just cut it and paste it- done! In fact, just about any media you want.... cut and paste... its that simple!

This forum is also better suited to the modern web. It interfaces nicely with social media and Google. You can join with your Facebook account, and Google is quick to pick up new posts (and know what they are about)! We hope this will make it easier for you, the user.... and help us get more interested people in from Google.

I hope the design and layout is pleasing and intuitive. Things should be where you would expect, and you should have all the tools you need to communicate and interact. I have brought over a bunch of the old emoticons.... and brought in a bunch of new ones. You can now rate posts, and I hope you will take the extra second or two to do this. Give the guy or girl who helped you out a like or thanks. If something is totally worthless, vote it down! Let's not waste time with trash. Your user space will give you a live look at your posts, and how your posts are taken in our community.

But with all the good, there is some bad. There was no way we could import the old site. Sorry. You will need to create a new user, and start over again. Sorry. Also, no old posts were saved. I moved over a bunch, either current posts, or those I thought important or popular.... but I could not move them all. (That is why you will see a good number of posts credited to me. If you see one of your posts credited to me, it is not because I want to steal your good words, it is because it was the most expedient way to move the posts across!)

If you have an old post that you think is important and/or worthy of being moved over to this forum, I welcome you to repost it. Lets keep things going, and lets keep what is good from the past!

Well, I hope you agree with me that the good overwhelms the bad, and this move was a good idea. It is what we have, going forward. So create a new account, add your avatar, and lets start posting!

    Delighted to be here.
Hopefully, the old Gossamer site will remain at least read-only for archive purposes. Someone is sure to ask about The Elmchanted Forest, or who that woman was whose feet never moved, or that studio that puts all its stuff on YouTube. It'll be a big help to migrate the routine topics' replies from there to Here.

Bravo, Dave. Once again, thinking of Cartoon Truth first and foremost. [banana]

And I'm TammiToon, in case anyone was wondering. I changed my name, too, as a tribute to my late father.

Like the new look ya got here. New paint job. Nice.

I'm the artist formerly known as Starburst. I decided to change my handle here to the name that I've been using everywhere else on line for the past few years, Silverstar. It's good to be back.

I'm liking this new look, Dave.

Howdy. In case you were wondering, I'm wondering, I'm Space Demon. After a decade, I figured that it was time to switch to a new user name. Goldstar is the handle that I use everywhere else on the internet.

Just to ask, how do you edit your posts here? I made an error in my initial post and have been looking for a way to correct it.

The "Edit" icon appears next to the "IP" icon. However, you only have a 10 min. timeframe to do the edit.

You only have like ten minutes at first to do it. As you get more "trophy point", your user privleges increase.... They go up big after ten posts. I just want to keep privleges down for spammers, who rarely post more than 2-3 posts...

I decided to stay the same, as to avoid confusion. That, and I like the moniker "Fluid Girl," opposed to my other choice, "SnowballsMom."
