    Other Side Of Maleficent

    I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    It took a while, but we are finally here! The Big Cartoon DataBase hit the milestone of 150,000 entries earlier today with the addition of the cartoon The Polish Language. This film was added to BCDB on May 9th, 2014 at 4:23 PM.

    Disney To Feast In France

    The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

The Website Will Not Let Me Add Any Corrections or Add Any New Titles

    I have been wanting to contribute to this site for quite some time now. But every time I try to add a new title (as in a new episode to a series that has not been added yet), it always displays this message "The site is temporarily down. Please check back a bit later...Thanks!" I also cannot add any new corrections since it does not let me submit them anymore and now says "(THIS FORM IS NOT CURRENTLY WORKING! I am working on a fix, but likely it has not worked since mid-March. Thank you for your patience!)" at the end of the page when I try to submit corrections. I have not seen anything about the site being down in a long time, so I don't know if it really is or if it is displaying an error when I try to add new titles that needs to be fixed. I haven't been able to add or correct any information on the site in at least 2 to 3 years, so I am just wondering why I haven't been able to.

    I know what you mean, Shamm. I have not been able to attach a picture (jpeg) to any of my posts for over a year now. I always get the same message about how I should “try again later,” but the situation never changes. I don’t know the reason for this disabling behavior or how to work around it, so I just add a link to where people can go to see my pic and leave it at that. Sorry to hear you’re having trouble, too. If I learn anything that’s helpful, I will let you know. ^•^
