    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

    Thanks
    1. The cartoons I am in are actually very elaborate advertisements.
    2. I usually come to the aid of youngsters
    3. In two of my shorts, I help out a well known fairy tale character.

The only ones I can think of are already on the list.

Would this happen to be Nicky Nome?

    Indeed. Nicky Nome it is.
    1. All of the shorts Nicky is in are actually very long (compared to today's commercials) advertisements for Chevrolet.
    2. From what I've seen, most of the protagonists Nicky seems to help are youngsters.
    3. In "A coach for Cinderella" and its sequel "A ride for Cinderella" Nicky helps Cinderella go to and get home from the ball.

I remember the Cinderella ones, but never saw the other Nicky Nome cartoons.

I started out in silent films.
When I transitioned into the talkies, I was no longer the star.
In fact, I was just the boyfriend.

I've seen the Prince and the Pauper one as well as both Cinderella ones--and know about the others. I am unsure about this one truthfully--I don't know much regarding black and whites and silents.

Hmm.. the only 30s female starring in cartoons that I can think of is Betty Boop. Bimbo is already on the list - but could this be Fitz, who would become Bimbo in the sound era? Bimbo started out as starring in the 30s, but Betty took over.

    Very close but no cigar.

I'm a little older than Fitz.
One of my creators was my model.
Decades later, I had a TV series that was a modern take on my original theatrical series.

That leaves just one character: Koko the Clown.

Yep, it's Koko. The clues are obvious, but just to elaborate on the last two...

Dave Fleischer was the model for Koko.
From 1961-62 the TV series, Out of the Inkwell was a remake and a failure.

    You're up.

Thanks, Salty. Now here's an easy one:

    1. I'm the title character of a three-part story.

    2. My friends and I are saved from death, thanks to a front-page story about me.

    3. My voice actress began her career learning "The Facts Of Life."

Well, I'm not finding anything that matches all 3 clues.

Ok, then. Here are three more clues:

4.. I lose both my mother and a human friend.

    5. When I finally get a home, I'm joined by my boyfriend.

    6. The narrator of my story is best known for playing TV's first official horse whisperer, and also voicing a robot in a late '70's anime show.

I have no idea who the character is, nor the show. I don't even know where to look, except maybe in Alan Young's filmography (he's the only horse whisperer I know!) Other than that, pffffttt!

He was giving a hint for those who are really stumped (If I'm wrong and he was putting in an official answer, I'll withdraw my answer). The character is Scruffy by Ruby-Spears.
