    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

With regrets to Glowworm, who zeroed in on the correct film series, but ever so slightly missed the precise character. Call it 98% right. :)

This means that EmeraldIsle makes a perfect score of Alex the lion from Dreamworks' Madagascar series. Collect another +1, O Wonder of Ireland, and launch your goodly clues. :D

Thanks, OUB. Now here's one for those of you fed up with winter:

    1. I go by my Greek name in the short.

    2. I become my captor's soulmate when he takes me underground.

    3. After eating some seeds, I'm only free to go for six months every year.

This sounds like the Goddess of Spring, from the MGM short.

Yeah, it does, except that it's a Disney short, not MGM. A Silly Symphony to be exact. I wanted to answer this this morning, but was a bit too busy to do so.

And her name, BTW, is Persephone. Since Saltyboot answered first, it's her turn now. As for the clues:

    1. Persephone is the goddess's Greek name. It's Proserpina in the Roman version.

    2. Hades took her to the Underworld to be his bride, soulmate, what have you.

    3. She was allowed to return to the surface world, but since she ate some pomegranate seeds, she could only return each year during the spring and summer months.

Take it away, Saltyboot. Great job. :)

Oh.... duh. I knew that. I don't know why I was thinking MGM.

Anyway, I'll post my character later tonight.

I didn't know that her name officially was Persephone in that short.

    Okee Dokey.

I've been trapped in a substance for decades.
Many rumors have spread about me.
I have been freed by a young boy.

Ah, this sounds like the villain Hexxus from Ferngully The Last Rainforest by Fai Films. He starts out trapped within an ugly gnarled tree that gets cut down by the Leveler. As to rumors, I can't say; the faeries of Fern Gully think that humans have gone extinct, however. The tree that imprisoned Hexxus was accidently marked for cutting by young Zack, who was trying to spray a fly at the time.

Nope, not Hexxus. I'll try and post more clues a little later.

    Ok. here goes.

I appeared once in a TV series.
The substance I was trapped in was very sticky.
The boy who saved me, (who is also the star of the series), had a thick accent.

Can't think of any thick-accented boys, and I've thought of tar, honey, and even maple syrup. None of those sticky substances seem to fit the clues.

Ok, here are the last three clues.

The boy is not only the star, he also has a laboratory.
My location for the past 30 years is inside a bus.
After I was freed, I explained how I got trapped.

Ok, it's definitely someone from "Dexter's Laboratory," but I still can't name the character.

Okay, I got it now. This is Billy the Bus Boy from an episode of Dexter's Laboratory titled "The Bus Boy." I was actually trying to find the episode online so I could fully explain the clues better. (I have seen the episode once a while back when Dexter was still on Cartoon Network rather than Boomerang)

To be exact, his full name is Little Billy Bloomberg.

    1. Billy has been stuck in chewing gum for years to the back of a bus seat.
    2. There are tons of rumors of what became of poor Billy--usually having to do with some sort of monster attacking him in one way or another.
    3. Billy is saved by Dexter, who arrives to put an end to the rumors and retrieve his pencil.
    4. Billy's first and only appearance is on Dexter's Laboratory.
    5. Again, Billy was stuck in gum--gum is sticky.
    6. Dexter has an Eastern European accent of some sort.
    7. Dexter's Laboratory--need I say more.
    8. Self explanatory.
    9. Billy actually tells Dexter what truly happened to him--then Dexter frees him with his laser pen.

That is correct Glowworm and for all the reasons stated! For a minute there, I was worried.

    Take it away.

Yeah, your last three clues helped me out a lot and helped me recall that episode.
This one shouldn't be too difficult.

    1. My name is a common term for an Indian monarch.
    2. Before my owner met the title protagonist, I was her only friend.
    3. I'm the reason why somebody has lost part of his pants.

I'm gonna say it's Rajah, Jasmine's pet tiger.

    Yep, It is Rajah.

    1. Rajah is a term for an Indian monarch--by Indian I mean India.
    2. Jasmine clearly states to her father in the beginning of the movie that she doesn't have any friends. When Rajah protests, she assures him "Except you, Rajah."
    3. A prince named Achmed storms out of the palace with a gaping hole in his pants. We soon find out that Rajah is the cause, as his very first scene is to angrily approach the Sultan when he attempts to speak to Jasmine--and he has a piece of the Prince's underwear in his mouth. Don't feel too sorry for that Prince, he was a jerk anyway.

Ok, here's one that should be easy.

My series is based on a video game.
Even people who don't play video games have heard of me.
    I'm yellow.
