    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Yes, that's it, Glowworm. Good job, as always. :) BTW, the song's title is "Aloha Oe."

Thanks. I actually had to look up her name--which may be why this one might have stumped others. I knew who she was right away, but couldn't recall her name. (A rarity, as I almost always remember a Looney Tunes character's name if they have one.)

    Here's a simple one.

    1. Shorts that include me usually have me either attempting to lay an egg or find a husband.
    2. Later shorts gave me a son.
    3. The other ladies gossip behind my back and tease me.

I do know this, but I've had enough turns for now. Someone else should answer this time.

Miss Prissy, who's son is Egghead Jr. The husband she looks for is Foggy.

    Here it goes.

My name happens to be the title of a live action movie.
My markings are identical to a well known character.
    I'm very lethargic.

Can't put my finger on it. The only one I thought of doesn't match all three clues.

Could this be Speed the turtle from The Swan Princess series of films by Nest Productions? Voiced so very aptly by comedian Steven Wright?

I guessed this one before, and got it wrong. But I have it right now. It's Dodsworth.

    1. "Dodsworth" was also the title of a live action movie.

    2. He has the exact same markings as Sylvester, but is slightly fatter.

    3. He's so lethargic that he gets a young kitten to catch the mice for him.

Thanks, Salty. Time for another no-brainer:

    1. Even though I'm cold by nature, I'm one of the good guys.

    2. When "interviewed" by my own alter ego, I reveal I had popsicles for breakfast when I was a kid.

    3. Like a previously posted character, I team up with a friendly neighborhood web-slinger.

This is Bobby Drake, better known as Iceman, who teams up with Peter Parker / Spider Man and Angelica Jones / Firestar in the Marvel Productions series Spider Man And His Amazing Friends. At this point, the three are all college freshmen or sophomores, living in a shared apartment in midtown, not terribly far from Peter's aunt May Parker.

Yes, OUB, you nailed it! Great job. :)

    Now for the clues:

    1. Self-explanatory.

    2. In one episode, when Bobby's interview with Captain America failed, he "interviewed" himself instead, and Iceman mentioned having popsicles for breakfast.

    3. Self-explanatory again.

So the board is yours once again.

That's fair: Angelica Jones / Firestar is already on the game board, so under equal time rules, Bobby Drake / Iceman gets a mention.

Time to go digging in virgin territory. Aha ...

    1) This character has appeared only once to date in an animated feature film. Honest. Just because some n00b with a cartoon series goes running around with the same name ...

    2) Once again, there's a missing parent: the father. We get to see this character's mother, however she dies not long afterward, leaving this character and his brother orphans. They apparently can take care of themselves especially well, though.

    3) Many people can recall where they were when they heard that President Kennedy had been shot. This character knows exactly where he was when the President was shot: he was in the same room at the time!

Well then, it's up to me to provide three more clues that narrow your thinking and sharpen your focus. Here goes:

    4) This character's film was produced in the United States, and first appeared in American theaters in February.

    5) This is not a Walt Disney pictures feature. Not even close.

    6) This character goes on a quest to a strange land, accompanied by an under-dressed brunette; a young, eager, greenhorn recruit; and a silent enemy agent. They ride upon some of the ugliest ponies I've ever seen.

I checked for animated movies that opened this month, and there was only one. Unfortunately, none of its characters match the clues. Besides, I'm not sure if you mean this February, or a previous one.
