We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

The Mystery Cartoon Character Game, ongoing-ier.

Thanks, Salty. Now for one that's really gone untapped:

    1. We're a trio of archaeologists.

    2. Our animated series has us visiting bygone eras.

    3. One of our adventures shows the true meaning of Christmas.

Yes, Pete, it's those three. All clues are self-explanatory, so you go again. Good job. . :)

Thanks, Emeraldisle. Here's my next character.

    1) I tell the others "We're gonna get out of the dumps!"
    2) I instigate a restoration program.
    3) We make it to the orphanage in time for Christmas.

Hmm, so far, only two characters come to mind, and both have been tapped as MC's.

    1) Grampy, from the 1936 cartoon by Fleischer Studios, Christmas Comes But Once A Year. Grampy is determined to dispel the orphans' misery and bring them joy. He converts household items into working toys in the space of a few minutes, and Grampy just happens to be riding near the orphanage when the crying is heard. But Grampy was already fielded back in the first thread.

    2) Igor, the peculiar assistant to Doctor Glickenstein, aspires to become a Mad Scientist himself, promoting his creations to lab assistants. Igor restores various body parts stitched together to life. The first place his rogue creation heads for is Malaria's Home for Blind Orphans. Igor arrives in time to see Eva orchestrate a stage show with the orphans, because her "evil bone" hasn't activated yet. But Igor has also been fielded in the first thread.

Sorry, Chief, I'm lost in the artichokes.

Interesting choice of characters, especially as the next set of clues might also apply to them. Of the two, Grampy probably comes closer than Igor - but as you say, they are both already on the list.

    4) I perform a surgical operation.
    5) Several of my companions are Hollywood look-alikes.
    6) My short can be seen as an upbeat response to the Depression.

Yes indeedy - it is the Sailor Boy Doll from Disney's 1935 Silly Symphony Broken Toys.

    1) Freshly arrived in the city dump, he encourages the other discarded toys to work together to improve their situation.
    2) He gets them to renovate each other, using available junk as spare parts (very "Grampy" this bit).
    3) The story was intended as a sort of "New Deal" optimism booster after the success of The Three Little Pigs, and was originally slated, apparently, for release in late Spring 1936. But someone realised it could make a good Christmas release, with the journey through the snow to the orphanage at the end, and it was bumped up the list and pushed through for release on 14 December, with the final shot of the Christmas wreath on the orphanage gates and Silent Night on the soundtrack making the perfect pay-off to the tale.
    4) He sews buttons on the blind doll in the manner of a hospital drama.
    5) The jack-in-the-box caricatures Ned Sparks, the wobbly man is W C Fields, the rag doll who lost her stuffing is Zasu Pitts (and imitates Mae West after her ample "transfusion") and the marionette with broken strings is Stepin Fetchit.
    6) As stated in answer 3.

Well done, Em - over to you!

Thanks, Pete. Now for another overlooked one:

    1. Like one before me from the same studio, I'm bullied about certain body parts.

    2. I suffer a tragic loss.

    3. In the end, I provide transportation for a couple in need.

Yes, Salty, it's he. Good job. :)

    1. Just as Rudolph was teased about his nose, Nestor was teased about his ears.

    2. His mother perished while protecting him from the cold after he was kicked out of the stable.

    3. He became the donkey who brought Joseph and Mary to Bethlehem.

    So you go again.

    Thanks, now here's mine.

I am the Command Center Coordinator.
With this high stress job, I'm always seen with a cup in my hand.
At one point in this Christmas special, someone threatened to expose my relationship with my assistant.

    Correct! It is Magee.

She is the North Pole Christmas Eve Command Center Coordinator.
Since it's a high stress job, she's always seen with a cup of eggnog or cocoa in her hand.
Wayne threatened to expose her relationship with her assistant, Tiny.

Here's an easy one for Christmas Day...

    1) I appear in two Christmas specials.
    2) I give up the job I don't like and become a specialist surgeon.
    3) I have a crush on the head of the medical school where I trained.

    Have a good day, everyone!

    You are right, of course!

    1) Hermey is Rudolph's companion in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Island of Misfit Toys.
    2) A misfit as a toymaker, he fulfills his dream to become a dentist.
    3) A the end of the second film he gets his wish - a date with the Tooth Fairy.

    Well done, Em!
