You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

The Mystery Cartoon Character Game, ongoing-ier.

Aw, this character isn't that bad, is he?

    4) This character is a Good Guy. Really. Ignore the warrants on his name, branding him as a thieving criminal brigand.

    5) They say every character has a doppelgänger; this character bears a striking resemblance to another character from the same studio.

    6) Technically, this character isn't human. As a species, no, he's not. As far as his role and how he comports himself, yeah, close enough.

Well, I knew the answer all along. It's Little John, from Disney's "Robin Hood."

However, since Glowworm's here, I'll let her take my turn if I'm right.

Oh, yeah, you're right, Em, 100% absolutely right on. This is Little John from Disney's Robin Hood. Except for fur color, he's the spitting image of Baloo from The Jungle Book, and the other Baloo from Talespin. While he's functionally an outlaw, living in a hobo camp somewhere in Sherwood Forest, Little John is more lawful than the horribly corrupt regent, Prince John. I'll add another +1, pronto. :)

Hmm, there is one character that debuted on Friday 18 December, but he's already been fielded as a Mystery Character.

    I don't see anything between the 6th and the 18th. I hope I'm wrong.

OK... I found a character, so I'll go ahead and post it.

I'm very flamboyant, and like to make an extravagant entrance.
My hairnet was used against me.
My mascot had to take over.

Yep, that's it. I'm glad you got it, because I don't think I could come up with another three clues.

    You're up, and Happy Hanukkah!

Thanks for the warm holiday greetings.
Anyhow, just came up with one.
    1. There are two of us.
    2. We are drawn in 2-D--but what is inside us is animated in 3-D.
    3. We are distrustful of one another at first, but eventually become good friends.

These are Day and Night, the two personifications of daytime and nighttime from the Pixar short cartoon, Day and Night. They start out as rivals, competing with each other as to who has the best goodies contained within him. However, they also come to see that each has some good, fun stuff in his counterpart as well, and they settle into a cooperative mode at the cartoons conclusion.

Nice. :) Though I'd like to find a December cartoon, there's a lot of empty until the 18th, which is when "The Pink Phink" premiered. Oh, well, I'll dig into corners and scrounge up somebody.

    1) This character has appeared only once to date in an animated feature film. Surprisingly, he survives to the end of the story, whereas many of his fellow characters didn't.

    2) This character is human. Just because he lives in New York, and has developed a dispassionate cynicism doesn't make him inhuman.

    3) Everybody must earn a living somehow, including this character. Fortunately, tipping is allowed.

Can't find a complete list of animated films set in New York. So I'll let someone else answer.

Oh my, more clues are needed. I'd better start fielding better ones.

    4) Despite his name, this character is a regular human guy, and not a fur-lined gorge.

    5) Y'know how Homer Simpson and Fred Flintstone have that perma-stubble thing going on? So does this character, though it's done differently.

    6) Now, Times Square has almost always had its share of sleazy businesses and dens of iniquity. Every so often, there's a movement to clean it up. In this character's time, they've given up on Manhattan, allowing it to degenerate to a point gazoozles worse than it has ever been. Even Robby the robot is reduced to street cart hot dog vending.

Just a heads up, I'm not going to be posting for the rest of the week or so. My Mom passed away suddenly and we're going through all the usual preparations.
