You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

The Mystery Cartoon Character Game, ongoing-ier.

    Ok, three more.

We go into our friends home through a secret passage.
The home is infested with weasels.
None of us (the 4 friends) are human.

This is Angus MacBadger from Disney's Adventures of Ichabod Crane and Mr. Toad. I've never actually seen the Mr. Toad segment.

    Yes, it is Angus MacBadger.

    He is Mr. Toad's bookkeeper.
He is the one that discovered that Toad really is innocent.
Toad's home was taken over by weasels.

Thanks, needed to figure out which Wind in the Willows character it was--but knew it was one of them.
I think this one should do.
    1. I am the star of the circus.
    2. We get distracted by a dog during the grand finale.
    3. I refuse to marry a sad clown--but eventually do after he saves me.

Oh, this is François, the clownish flea and principal performer in Fred "Tex" Avery's The Flea Circus for MGM Studios.

Well, you were close. I just checked the cartoon myself, and I believe the answer is Fifi, the girl flea.

Yes, Fifi is the correct answer. Francois was never a very popular act--the poor guy got booed and yanked off the stage. Fifi however, was the pride and joy of the show.
As for the second clue, a dog somehow wanders into the building--dogs are understandably not allowed, as they distract the performers. In this case, the fleas all excitedly flock to the dog--except for Francois.

Ah, thanks a lot, Glowworm. Now here's one that's perfectly timed:

    1. I'm a mess from head to foot, and named for something considered filthy.

    2. I appear in most of the animated specials, but not the Thanksgiving one.

    3. Along with the rest of the gang, I return to the big screen tomorrow.

Well, I'll take it, because I glorped up the last one. This is Pig Pen, created by Charles Schulz for his Peanuts comic strip. Pig Pen, and most of his peers, are adapted by Blue Sky Studios for The Peanuts Movie.

Nice. Now, inspired by EmeraldIsle's talent for picking characters based on a meaningful date, I've found one. Goodie.

    1) This character made his screen debut on Wednesday 1 November 1978. His "birthday" is November 1972, however.

    2) I use male pronouns because this character is male. Really. "A Boy Named Sue" syndrome.

    3) This character gets shot. It's not fatal, but for a while, it was touch-and-go. Especially because the ersatz surgeon has no medical license.

Well, since there were no takers, I'll answer. It's Hazel, from "Watership Down." I had to double check for accuracy.

Yes indeed, this is Hazel the rabbit from Richard Adams' Watership Down, adapted into an animated feature by Nepenthe Studios. The film first hit theaters in 1978, while the book went into print in 1972. Side note: if you can, snag the earlier print runs. Those have some side stories of rabbit mythology, and some glimpses of lapine psychology. Adams assembled the book from short stories that combined Greek mythology with Peter Cottontail to amuse his two daughters during long car trips. Hazel sounds like a girls' name, but he's a boy. Hazel gets some birdshot in his right thigh while freeing some farm rabbits from their hutch, and the tern Kehaar extracts the shot with his beak. "Always with gun is come little black stones. You never see? Take out stones, he get better."

So, I'll add the new +1 to EI's mighty pile and graciously accede control of the board. :)

Thanks, OUB. That's one of the first books I read in high school, and I have my own copy of the film.

    And now, these simple clues:

    1. I'm a voracious carnivore.

    2. I repeatedly demand a specific condiment for my meat.

    3. Ironically, by the time I finally get what I crave, I no longer want it!
