    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

The Mystery Cartoon Character Game, ongoing-ier.

Yes, Salty, it most certainly is Scott Howard. All three clues are self-explanatory, so you get your long overdue turn. Good job. :)

    Great! Here's mine.

I appeared in a Halloween special, but I'm not a Halloween character.
    I speak in third person.
    I have a 1/3 scale counterpart.

Can't say I know this one. Maybe someone else will have better luck.

    Hopefully these will do it.

I'm not the main character, but I appear with characters that were in some movies about toys.
    I'm missing something.
This special first aired two years ago.

Actually, I had the answer just this morning. It's Combat Carl, from "Toy Story Of Terror."

Actually, his name is Carl but yes.

He speaks in the third person.
His 1/3 scale counterpart is Combat Carl Jr.
He was in the special with the Toy Story main characters.
    He's missing his hand.

    You're up!

Thanks, Salty. Now here's a threefer:

    1. We're the youngest daughters of the title character.

    2. Our mom used her skills to save her friend from the slaughterhouse.

    3. Unfortunately, she was dead before we were born.

Surely these are the spiders Joy, Nellie and Aranea born to Charlotte Cavatica, whose web spelled out "some pig" to sway people from shipping poor Wilbur off to an abattoir. The book Charlotte's Web by Elwyn White was adapted in 1973 by Hanna-Barbera Studios into an animated feature film. Like their mother, these three are polite and articulate.

OUB, you got it again, and for all those reasons. The other clues are self-explanatory, so you go again. Good job, and happy Halloween. :)

Splendid choice, and it made me research the names of young spiders; Charlotte I remembered, Joy and Nellie and Aranea I didn't.

Oh, here's another one for the completion list.

    1) This character is one of a pair of Good Guys from an animated cartoon series that's no longer in production. His partner has already been fielded as a Mystery Character.

    2) Although this character doesn't have superpowers, he still maintains the dual identity mechanism.

    3) Despite being a Good Guy, this character must perform his heroics under a nom de guerre, lest he be arrested by the Chief of Security or his underlings. He's a Good Guy with a Bad Reputation, undeservedly so.

Oops, more clues time. *sheepish smile*

    4) Neither this character nor his partner are stupid, nor are they weaklings. It just so happens that the partner is The Smart Guy of the team, while this character is The Big Guy. Both of them are strong and brave, and passionate about vanquishing villains.

    5) Fairness Rule again: this character is not human. Then again, nobody in this universe is, though if they were, little would change.

    6) The military has terms for groups of soldiers: army, battalion, regiment, corps, platoon, squad, et cetera. Two guys and one aircraft cannot add up to a squadron, despite the title. Dastardly, Muttley, Klunk and Zilly barely qualify, but these two? Nope.

Man, I deserve a face palm for not getting it from the first three clues. It's Chance Furlong, AKA T-Bone, from "SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron."

Actually, it is I who should be hanging my head in shame for leaving the mighty Chance "T-Bone" Furlong out of play for this long. Both he and his partner, Jake "Razor" Clawson, need to keep their identities hidden, because Commander Feral demoted them for interfering with the capture of Dark Kat, a totally bogus charge. I keep hearing noise about a SWAT Kats revivial, based around a fragmented web comic getting crowd funded somehow, but that's a nebulous possibility at this point. Anyway, EmeraldIsle gets a fresh +1 to the tally board, and control of the game board.

    Go Mysterify us, EI. :)

Thanks, OUB. Time for another untapped one:

    1. I leave the farm for one of the biggest American cities.

    2. Along with others, I use the President's home as a hideout.

    3. My animated series ran much shorter than any Presidential term.

Excellent choice of series, EI. I could name this character, but that'd be hoggish. I'll keep quiet and give another participant a chance.

(Goodie, I got to say that again. :D)

    Max the mouse it is.

    1. He left his Nebraska farm for Washington D. C. after losing his family.

    2. Self-explanatory.

    3. The show had one of the shortest runs ever.

So you go again, Salty. Good job. :)

Great! I shall celebrate by posting a character. [toast] An easy one at that.

This movie has been tapped, but not this character.
I agreed to be my friends' bookkeeper.
I made a discovery that may exonerate him.

Correction: this discovery may not be related to the bookkeeping job. (should have made that clear)
