We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

The Mystery Cartoon Character Game, ongoing-ier.

Something tells me that I knew who it really was... Doesn't matter--the character can be used later one in the game.

Now I am in a dilemma...

OUB feels obliged to give me the point because my answer fits the clues even though it was not the character he had in mind.
But Glowworm has an answer that might be correct.

Because my answer, Super Snooper, was not the character OUB intended, it seems to me that my answer may not fit the clues 100%. Is clue 3, for instance, as good a fit to Snooper as it is to the intended character? I suspect it may not be, and so request that Mr Bunny reconsiders his decision in favour of continuing the quest for the intended character.

Being honest here, Super Snooper wasn't the character that I had in mind. However, I'm mindful that this is a game, meant for fun. I refuse to be punitive or dismissing when an answer meets the criteria; that's unfun and tacky. No, the onus is on me to construct unique and nonambiguous clues that can point to only one particular character out of many thousands. Again, it's the Jason Fox principle: when asked for the square root of 64, Jason Fox gives an answer of -8, which is correct, though not the expected answer. Marking this answer as wrong would abnegate all the lessons on squares and roots he'd been taught.

Therefore, in fairness, PeterHale's answer is the most correct one ventured, and it meets all the clues' criteria. If Glowworm wants to venture her answer, which I suspect will match the one I had in mind, then I can award her a +1 as well, since both -8 and +8 rightly solve the problem.

Very well, my guess was Depatie--Freleng's Inspector.
I didn't go ahead with it when I had the chance because I wanted to wait for more clues to see if I was right.

Gee, no more clues are needed, because The Inspector by David Depatie and Isadore "Friz" Freleng is exactly the character I had in mind. We have his beleaguered padawan Deux-Deux on the list already. His cartoons were sandwiched between those of the Pink Panther, the studio's premiere character. France, like many places with a police force, reserves the gold badge of detectives to those of exceptional observation, acumen and analysis; how this pompous goofball became an Inspector is anyone's guess. So, a second +1 to Glowworm. Control of the board goes to ... anyone, really. As long as it's a Mystery Character, I'm good with it. :)

I should have gone with my instincts that morning and posted that answer before I went off to work at 6 in the morning. I will take the board then.
Amusingly enough, I too want to play with the other end of a coin...
    1. I am one of two main characters in a series of shorts.
    2. Everything the other character is--I am not. He's the definition of a charming, handsome hero, while I am the despicable, loathing, mean-spirited villain.
    3. In fact, my very own name is used to describe an undesirable, obnoxious person.

Glowwworm, it's way too simple. The answer is Rattfink. I got the answer from the fact that you posted Roland a long time ago.

Exactly and for that very reason! It's actually spelled with two ts though--Rattfink.
Yes, ratfink actually is a a word.

Thanks, Glowworm. Now here's a set of clues that I'm surprised has gone untapped, even at this time of year:

    1. We all live under the same roof.

    2. Instead of being scary, we rock the house.

    3. At first, we shared screen time with a teenage witch, and later teamed up with a famous pig and duck, plus a few others.

Also simple--the Groovie Goulies--who I've only seen through that infamous Daffy Duck and Porky Pig Meet the Groovie Goulies special. Seriously, those two things go together like a peanut butter and toothpaste sandwich.

Glowworm, you win again. Good job. :)

    1. They all live at Horrible Hall.

    2. They perform as a rock band, performing musical numbers, and telling jokes.

    3. You nailed part of this clue. In the beginning, they shared billing with Sabrina The Teenage Witch, when the show was called "Sabrina And The Groovie Goolies."

So step up, and take yet another turn.

Yeah, I knew they shared billing with Sabrina.
Here's a good one that's been on my mind.
    1. There really is no reason for me to be in this movie. I am not a main character, nor do am I responsible for driving along the plot.
    2. Basically I'm just here to have a Looney Tunes esque fight with some living seafood that understandably does not want to be cooked for dinner.
    3. Also, I get to sing a song about how I love to hack up the bodies of my victims and cook them--before spotting the living seafood.

This is Chef Louis, who tries to cook Sebastian in The Little Mermaid.

Exactly--I loved that scene as far back as when I was really little.
    1. Basically Chef Louis is a Big Lipped Alligator moment--something that shows up out of nowhere has very little impact on the movie--and won't likely show up again (although he does chase after Sebastian at the very end of the movie during the wedding.)
    2. Yeah, Sebastian accidentally wanders into the palace kitchen, and the Chef basically tries to cook him--nothing like some classic Looney Tunes/Tom and Jerry shenanigans.
    3. Chef Louis even gets to sing a little song about how he loves to prepare and cook fish--"Les Poissons" Talk about someone who's really into his work...

    I always liked that song.

My cartoon is based on a short story.

    Three more.

My rival told me a very scary story.

Had to double check the character list, but I've got it now. It's Ichabod Crane, from "The Adventures Of Ichabod And Mr. Toad."
