We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

The Mystery Cartoon Character Game, ongoing-ier.

Spot on, OUB - Blabber Mouse it is! You've explained clue 3, clue 1 is self-evident, clue 2 refers to Blabber making the sound of the siren.

Award yourself a big, shiny point, and bring on your next mystery character, if you please!

Perhaps old Fred Quimby was right: cat and mouse as adversaries had been done to death in cartoons. Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera had tickled the idea of "frenemies" in their Tom and Jerry series, so a television series about a cat-and-mouse partnership was the next logical step. Lateral thinking at its finest. :)

Well, this is a well-traveled road, but somehow this character got missed. I shall remedy that:

    1) This character appears in a regularly televised animated series that's no longer in production.

    2) Like Lola Bunny or Scrappy Doo, this character is not part of the original lineup, debuting instead in a reboot series.

    3) This newest character becomes the Team Pet, although they already have one to begin with. The two pets don't get along.

Little guys are often so adorable. Like this mystery character, Bleep, from "Josie And The Pussycats In Outer Space."

    1. That show ceased production after just one season.

    2. He was only there for the outer space adventures, natch.

    3. He and Sebastian were about as adversarial as Josie and Alexandra.

Absolutely correct, this is Bleep, the weird wooly thing that Josie and the Pussy Cats in Outer Space adopted in their first episode, "Where's Josie?" That's good for a fresh +1, and control of the Board, Emerald Isle. :)

Thanks, OUB. Now it's time for another no-brainer:

    1. I'm a rodent.

    2. Like all the others, my name is also my species.

    3. The protagonist foolishly mistakes my warning about the weather for a holiday.

More clues are needed, I see.

    4. In an earlier cartoon, I'm ordered not to feed the bear.

    5. I keep reminding my friends that I'm not in the book.

    6. A running gag has me falling into my hole.

Well, this shoots down my earlier supposition: that this was G. Weatherby Groundhog from the public domain Woody Woodpecker cartoon "Pantry Panic." :(

Yes, Saltyboot, it certainly is the Gopher. Now to explain the clues:

    1 and 2 are self-explanatory.

    3. When he warns Pooh about Windsday, Pooh, thinking it's a holiday, goes about saying "Happy Windsday!"

    4. In "Winnie The Pooh And The Honey Tree," Rabbit orders him not to feed Pooh any more honey, as the bear is stuck in Rabbit's front entrance.

    5. He was created by Disney, and was never in any of the original stories.

    6. Self-explanatory again.

So you're up again, Salty. Good job. :)

Great! Here's one that I whipped up.

This is another character who's name is also his species.
    I'm very sophisticated.
I believe that my friend should pay for his crime.

    OK then, here's round two.

One of my friends is timid, and the other is reckless.
We literally risked our lives to clear our reckless friend's name.
In the original book, I am not stuffy. Instead, I am very laidback.

    Yes, that's it!

Ratty, Mole, and Badger all risked their necks trying to clear Toad from auto theft charges.
Before they found out about Toads' innocents, Ratty believed that Toad should pay for the crime.

    OK, peterhale. You're up!

    Thanks!

    1) I like to give orders, but my wife is the boss.
    2) I plead for a trial.
    3) I tend to get overlooked.

    It is indeed!

Bouncy and enthusiastic, he adds "By order of the King!" when reitterating the Queen's instructions. He asks that Alice be tried before her execution - perhaps more because he wants to preside over a trial than any concern for Alice. Very short, usually hidden by the Queen's gown, and treated dismissively by the White Rabbit.

    All yours, Em!

Thanks, Pete. And now, just in time for Labor Day weekend, I present these clues:

    1. I'm the boss man of a bygone era.

    2. My looks constantly changed before I ultimately became a tall guy with glasses.

    3. My name may make you think of blackboards.

    And it is indeed he.

    1. He's Fred'd boss.

    2. In the beginning, he was an un-named little man with white hair. Then he became more like the prehistoric ancestor of Mr. Spacely. Finally, he was about Fred's height, and wore glasses. It should also be noted that he was at various times also known as Mr. Rockhead(no relation to Joe), and Mr. Granite.

    3. Slate is used for blackboards.

So you're up again, Salty. Good job. :)
