You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

The Mystery Cartoon Character Game, ongoing-ier.

Well, the subject matter is a no-brainer. I looked it up and only found one short, but there is little info about it, so I'm not sure.

I'll go ahead and guess that it's Mary Jones from MGM's Miracle at Lourdes.

Never heard of that one, Salty. But I can honestly say it's not her.

I really thought someone would come by last night with the answer. I can only provide three more clues:

    4. I'm a male cartoon character.

    5. My short was produced by Terrytoons rather than MGM.

    6. I lack the skills of my fellow monks, so I go back to my day job to present my gift.

It is Cantalbert, from Gene Deitch's The Juggler of Our Lady (Terrytoons 1958) - I got it from your first clues, but I've just been watching it (to find out his name)!

Yes, Pete, you got it right. All clues are self-explanatory, so good job. You once again have control of the board. :)

    Thanks, Em!

This should be an easy one. We've been here before, but not used this character...

    1) I am the title character.
    2) Because of me, a man wins the battle of the sexes.
    3) I like flowers.

Again, I haven't a clue. So maybe someone else knows.

Haven't lobbed a brick in a while, so I'm due. Helmets on, if ya know what's good fer ya...

Molly Moo Cow, from Van Beuren Studios. She has a peculiar ability to spin daisies like pinwheels.

Sorry for the delay - I had a hospital appointment Wednesday, and I forgot about the game preparing for it (I had originally thought my turn would be over beforte I went in)!

Good lob, but not Molly Moo Cow.

    4) I eat roses (and a lily).
    5) My existance is denied.
    6) I have a golden horn.

    It is indeed!

Clues are sself-evident: man sees unicorn, wife calls "Booby Hatch". man denies everything, wife is carted away. Based on the Thurber short story.

    Your turn, Glowworm...

Thanks--I recall using the husband as a mystery character a while back.
To be honest, I want to sit this round out. I've been having a little computer trouble lately and don't want to leave you guys hanging if something should happen.

Well, I guess I'll go again, for I have a good one:

    1. I seek ways to get rich, much to my wife's dismay.

    2. I meet and buy a new friend at the glue factory.

    3. My short precedes a well-known live action TV show with a similar premise by only two years.

    Three more Clues:

    4. Like the man in the live action show, I'm the only one my new friend can talk to.

    5. I enter him in a race, hoping to have a big win.

    6. I tell him to convince the other racers to let him win, but this fails miserably.

OK, let's see.. this is about a man who buys a horse... the TV show must be Mr Ed, which aired in 1961 - so we need a talking horse cartoon from 1959... (Googles frantically)

Yes!! It must be Oscar Gullible from the Famous Studios Modern Madcap Talking Horse Sense

Pete, you got it again. Good job. :) Now to explain the clues:

    1. Oscar is a man seeking to make money the easy way, but his wife is against it.

    2. He buys Gabby at the glue factory.

    3. As Pete already mentioned, the short was released two years before "Mr. Ed" became a TV hit.

    4. Gabby can only talk to Oscar, just as Mr. Ed could only talk to Wilbur.

    5. Oscar enters Gabby in a horse race.

    6. Gabby follows Oscar's advice to talk to the other horses, but later reveals they couldn't understand him--he forgot how to talk to horses!

    So you're up again, Pete.

    Thanks, Emeraldisle.
I'll try and stay focussed this time!

    1) My flair for publicity stunts leads to adventure for the show's eponymous heroes.
    2) Although unnamed in the series, I was based on a real character.
    3) He didn't provide my voice, that was left to Paul Frees.

I'll have to look up Paul Frees's voice work for this one. Right now, I haven't a clue.

Could this be that flim-flam fox J. Waldo Wigglesworth from the Hoppity Hooper series?

No, not Uncle Waldo - this character has no name in the series.
