    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

I know this now, having looked up the special, but let's see if someone else gets it.

You got it, Glowworm, it's definitely the Shy Little Kitten. I should've used some of the second clues in the first set. Duh. Oh well, she's been identified, so . . . . .

Sorry, I can't brain today. I have the dumb.

I did not realize this little kitten had an animated special. Those last clues--especially the one about the internet loving cats did it for me.
Anyhow, as I anticipated that I would be correct, I have a particular character in mind.

    1. I have been in two specials, based off two books.
    2. In the first special, I am initially made up by the protagonist to frighten away predators, but to his and the others' surprise--I actually exist!
    3. In the sequel to the first special, my daughter goes off seeking the terrifying creature I met in the woods so many years ago.

Not quite for me, either. Up until clue 3, I had Fievel Mousekewicz's Giant Mouse of Minsk in mind, but Tanya never goes off to find this creature. *chortles* The Giant Mouse of Minsk: Soviet Super-Science at its finest.

    More clues.
    4. The books in particular are children picture books.
    5. A mother squirrel narrates both specials, as a story told to her two children.
    6. The protagonist is actually a little guy and not actually terrifying, but using his wits to save himself, makes himself out to be the scariest creature in the woods.

Yes, Saltyboot, it is indeed the Gruffalo from the special of the same title. Finally got around to watching both films and they are a delight.

    1. The two books are The Gruffalo, and The Gruffalo's Child--the same names are given to the specials.
    2. A mouse makes up the Gruffalo on the spot to thwart some hungry predators who want to eat him. Eventually, the predators get wise, but the mouse and all the rest discover that there actually is such thing as a Gruffalo.
    3. In "The Gruffalo's Child" the Gruffalo's daughter searches for "The Big Bad Mouse" that scared the Gruffalo a while back.
    4. Easily explainable.
    5. Also explainable.
    6. Near the end of the story, the mouse convinces the Gruffalo that he's the most terrifying creature in the woods--and even makes the Gruffalo believe that he's going to eat him.

OK, I was finally able to come up with something.

I was born from a flower.
    I'm very tiny.
I want to meet others my own size.

That's correct. I didn't have time to come up with complicated clues, so I decided to do an easy one.

    You're up.

Thanks, Salty. Now here's the one I postponed due to the death of Leonard Nimoy:

    1. I meet one of the title characters when she's incarcerated just like me.

    2. I reveal that I've been there, done that with her guy, and sing a song about his true reputation.

    3. I'm not only modeled after my voice actress, I'm named after her, too.

Ah, this is Peg from Lady and the Tramp. Used to have that song on a Disney Sing A Long Song tape as a kid.

Yes, Glowworm, Peg it is. Now for the clues:

    1. She met Lady when both were in the dog pound.

    2. She revealed that she'd once had an affair with Tramp, and sings, "He's A Tramp," which exposes him as a canine womanizer.

    3. She's modeled on Peggy Lee, who voices her, and needless to say, is also named for her.

    Good job, once again. :)

    Yeah, pretty catchy song too.
Here's one that comes to mind.
    1. I arouse the anger of the main character when I post a promotional poster of myself over his home.
    2. My stage name is a play on a well known 1001 Arabian Nights character, and a state.
    3. I have some unusual magic words.
