    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

The Mystery Cartoon Character Game, now with 20% more ongoing.

    Alright.
    1. In the vein of a certain wascally wabbit, I'm being hunted by a hunter.
    2. However, the hunter is technically a boy, and I am not a rabbit.
3.In fact, I clearly state that this looks like a job for Bambi, but he's not available, so it's up to me to mess with the young hunter.

    4. My short is in the same episode in which a duck and pig do a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles parody beforehand.
    5. "I may be a poor, pitiful forest creature, but Mama didn't raise no fools!"
    6. I'm technically a one shot character although I've made a few cameos throughout the series.

    7. Unlike most of the characters on the show, I'm not based on any former character from Warner Bros.
    8. I lure the hunter into a bear cave at the end of my short.
    9. The hunter is a ill-mannered rich kid.

I found it! It's Vinnie the deer, who's pursued by Montana Max in the Tiny Toons Adventures episode "Venison, Anyone?"

Thanks, Glowworm. Now here's a good one:

    1. My series has no title characters.

    2. I'm the team nerd, and an accomplished pilot to boot.

    3. I like two of my team mates, but have an adversarial relationship with the turbaned guy.

    Last three clues:

    4. Like the other three, I become tiny when the need arises.

    5. My animated series is based on a live action movie released two years earlier.

    6. Both the movie and the cartoon inspired a live action parody that began playing in theaters 30 years ago.

Had to look up his name, but those clues still pointed me at the right series: Filmation Associates' Fantastic Voyage. The Smart Guy of the team is Busby Birdwell, a tangental homage to theater showman Busby Berkeley.

Nice. :) Okay, kinda nerdy guy with glasses is the category. I think I know a fellow like that.

    1) This character occurs in a regularly televised animated series that's still in production at this time (check the date stamp).

    2) In addition to being among the smartest characters, this fellow is also very much like a bunny in a wolf pack. He's the Nice Guy among a bunch of meanies.

    3) And here's another case of Missing Mom moë. This character's father is presumably alive, and has been seen on screen once. Although, Dad's not all that nice, either.

    Intermediate clues time.

    4) This character is a grown man. There are one or two childhood flashbacks, of course, but 99.99% of the time, this character is an adult.

    5) Though he's old enough to drink booze, he routinely abstains. It helps him keep a clear head and not make rash decisions. Like someone he knows.

    6) Being the rational and sensible fellow that he is, this character tries not to get his hands dirty. Nevertheless, he has killed a few people. Mostly by accident, but still ....

    Cupcake clues time.

    7) Starting near the bottom of the corporate ladder, and being treated that badly, this character is destined to eclipse his Bad Bosses and found his own outfit.

    8) Debuted in 2009 by Floyd County Productions. Their animation improved over time as they got comfortable with the medium.

    9) Chris Parnell supplies this character's voice, doing his best to sound gorky and undateable.

Yes, that's who is it: the Mystery Character is Cyril Figgis of the Archer series. Started out as the accountant for the International Secret Intelligence Service, and is destined to rise until founding the Figgis Agency. Lots of drunken meanies in the interim, though. And one Mad Scientist. Eh, typical workplace. Good research, Em. :D

Thanks, OUB. Now to try once again with an untapped one:

    1. My movie has two titles.

    2. It'll be released in two weeks, on August 25.

    3. Although I get in by deception, I do end up fulfilling my dream.

    Three more clues:

    4. My film takes place in Paris.

    5. I meet a boy.

    6. I try for the female lead in a ballet traditionally performed during the holiday season.

Since I ran out of clues, I'll provide the answer. It's Felice, from the upcoming animated film "Leap," AKA "Ballerina." Now to explain the clues: All are more or less self-explanatory, so I'll let someone else take a turn now.

Well, due to the outage, and the fact that no one else took a turn, I decided on these clues:

    1. I'm one of two female characters in the series.

    2. I work in the same company as the late title character, and have an obnoxious boss.

    3. My name can be found in a classic Beach Boys song.

    Last three clues:

    4. My series was produced by Hanna-Barbera's rival studio at the time.

    5. It was their first non-Archie show of the 1970's.

    6. The title character was asked to please sit down.
