    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Aha! Found it at last. It's Lady Tottington, from "Wallace And Gromit: The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit."

Yes, she's the one: Lady Campanula Tottington, created by Aardman Animation and released through the Dreamworks theater network. Good tracking, Em. :D

Thanks, OUB. Now for one that's truly untapped:

    1. I'm the hero of an upcoming movie.

    2. My own father is the villain.

    3. My movie was preceded by a movie in which everything was awesome, and one about the Dark Knight.

    Three more clues:

    4. My designated color is green.

    5. My name rhymes with Floyd.

    6. My movie's due out on September 22nd.

This is Lloyd Garmadon from Lego Ninjago. It''s both a tv series and soon to be a movie. Also, that movie trailer has the strangest song choice--Taylor Swift's "Bad Love" of all things. [wtf]

And let it rip, I shall!
    1. We're a bunch of innocent little infants, unrightfully lured away from our mother by a smooth talking scoundrel.
    2. He invites us out for a walk--oh but murder is on his mind!
    3. His partner in crime fixes everything up for supper, but the jerk never was intent on sharing...

Yes, I was very disturbed by this scene as a child--heck most of this movie was disturbing! (Ironically, I do love the book though) Did they really have to make the oysters look so adorable and innocent, though?

Thanks, Glowworm. Now to try for another easy one:

    1. I like to fly, even though I'm usually on a ship.

    2. I'm the BFF of a human boy.

    3. In times of trouble, I can summon the title character when the electronic signaler is unavailable.

Aha, this can only be Godzooky, a smaller and cuter version of Godzilla from Hanna-Barbera's The Godzilla Power Hour. I forget: was he the actual son of Godzilla, the classic nephew, or an unrelated ward? No matter what, he was darn cute. And wow-ee, can Godzooky defy physics. There is no way, unless he's made of helium surrounded by cellophane skin, that 'Zooky could ever fly.

Right, OUB. Godzooky it is. And he's Godzilla's nephew. Good job. :). You may now post a new character.

Nice. :) Oh dear, this character is nowhere near as cute. Nor as useful. Gee, I sure pick awful characters ...

    1) This character occurs only once to date in an animated feature film. Completely animated, nobody who'd fail to qualify for the Ink And Paint Club in this one.

    2) Although he's not in the military, this character nonetheless is part of a regiment. Functionally, he's a tattle-tale for the Commander-in-Chief.

    3) The last scene with this character has him fainting at hearing that, like Sean Spicer, he's being replaced.

    Intermediate clues time.

    4) This character's job title is never mentioned. It seems to be part recording secretary, part logistics accountant.

    5) The title character's father is known to this character. It's not a close tie, though, since this character is surprised by an update.

    6) For someone in the Commander-in-Chief's inner circle, this character will take orders from anyone who sounds like a Scary Black Man.

    Cupcake clues time.

    7) Debuted Friday 5 June 1998.

    8) Produced by Walt Disney Studios, entirely in their Florida animation division.

    9) Voice by provided by the same fellow that makes eyeballs for replicants.

Close enough. This is Chi Fu from Disney's Mulan, voiced by James Hong. His name is meant as a homophone to "Chief Fool," as an indicator of his The Niedermeyer role.

Thanks, OUB. I've got a really good untapped one this time:

    1. My name is a spoof of a well-known leading lady.

    2. My short shows a spoof of a classic film.

    3. My "leading man" is also a takeoff on a famous actor, and here, named after a golf term and a certain vehicle.

    Three more clues:

    4. Even the title of my short is a parody.

    5. A wolf steals the show.

    6. The stars my man and I are modeled on are mentioned in a classic Bertie Higgins song.

Oh, of course, Laurie Becool from "Bacall to Arms." This was a short that I never saw on tv due to the double no-no ending. (Gocart shoots the wolf then does a blackface gag when the cigarette blows up in his face.)
