    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

The Mystery Cartoon Character Game, now with 20% more ongoing.

Aha, Phineas J. Whoopee, PhD. He's the go-to guy when Tennessee Tuxedo and Chumly need answers. No matter what the problem, Professor Whoopee can explain it clearly, with the help of his Three-Dimensional Blackboard, a/k/a the 3DBB. One of the interstitial cartoons in Total Television's Underdog series. *lightbulb*

Yes, it's Mr. Whoopee, all right. Good job, and whoopee to you! You may post the next character. :).

Nice. :) Oh, lookee, I've tapped the primary villain, but have yet to field the actual hero. Fixing time.

    1) This character occurs in a regularly televised cartoon series that's no longer in production.

    2) The studio that animated him no longer exists, and the live action show in which this cartoon was nested has also ceased production.

    3) This character is a cowboy + sheriff in the Old West. He rides on his horse, and thwarts villainy. Unlike most westerns, this sheriff is unarmed; he has only his wits, his trusty steed and his lasso at his disposal.

I'm surprised no one answered. The answer is Lariat Sam.

    1. This show ceased production in the early 1960's.

    2. It was produced by the now defunct Terrytoons, and originally aired on Captain Kangaroo.

    3. Self-explanatory.

That's precisely who this character is, Em: Lariat Sam, with his talking horse Tippy Toes. Their recurring nemeses are Badlands Meanie and J. Skulking Bushwhack. Bob Keeshan, better known as Captain Kangaroo, specified that none of the cartoons shown on his show contain firearms or other weapons. He had the right idea, obviously: multiple awards and accolades for children's television. Good memory, EmeraldI. :)

Thanks, OUB. Now I've got a real good one:

    1. I work closely with the protagonist.

    2. Considering the plot of my movie, I guess you could say I'm his Bee FF.

    3. My voice actor previously played a teenage computer hacker, and later voiced a well-known Disney lion.

    Three more clues:

    4. My friend decides to interact with a human.

    5. Honey is my food of choice.

    6. I'm always busy in the hive.

Well, a lot of these clues point to the Bee Movie. Thing is, Barry Benson had his voice supplied by Jerry Sienfeld, while Simba from Disney's The Lion King had his voice supplied by Jonathan Taylor Thomas. So, either I'm pitching in the wrong ballpark, or there's a connection that the IMDB is missing. *headscratch*

Ah, but you forgot Simba was voiced by two actors, not one.

    Ok, cupcake clues now:

    7. I'm named after the first human in the Bible.

    8. I look somewhat like a human businessman.

    9. Eventually, I'm decapitated by a canine.

Well, OUB came the closest, so I'll give him credit. It's Adam Flayman, from "The Bee Movie." He was voiced by Matthew Broderick, the voice of the adult Simba.

Okay, I'll take what I can get. Besides, this is a good chance to complete a pair. Fixing time!

    1) This character recurs in an animated series that's still in production, though not necessarily by the same studio. He's a franchise character that comes with the set.

    2) The partner to this character has already been tapped as a Mystery Character, so in fairness, this is the other half of the dangerous duo.

    3) This character qualifies as a Bad Guy, like his partner. However, there are much badder baddies in their universe, for whom this character functions as herald / advance guard / mindless muscle.

    And it's intermediate clues time.

    4) This character is not human. He wears clothes, and walks upright, but no, not human.

    5) Somebody needs to tell this character that the Eighties are over. Denim vests, Mole Man glasses and Roman mohawks are all Deader Than Disco.

    6) Despite being such a tough guy, he's got a lot of pink on him. Not that he made a conscious choice about his pinkness.

Wait a minute--this is Bebop, one of Shredder's henchmen and the counterpart to Rocksteady of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.

I think he was actually more purple than pink but yeah, the 80s version was definitely part of my childhood.
    Here's one.
    1. So far I've aired in 10 shorts through Cartoon Network--at least through the Spanish speaking part of the world.
    2. Due to my immense popularity, it's entirely possible that I could get my own tv series.
    3. I'm generally running what looks like a home shopping channel for villains.

    4. Think Invader Zim meets Evil Con Carne and you've basically got this show.
    5. My partners in crime include my very put upon mad scientist, a rapid fangirl and an adorable blue bear with a flower coming out of his head.
    6. The mad scientist wear a bag over his head--and goggles.

    Last set.
    7. I may have the form of a dapper looking man wearing a top hat--but I am CLEARLY NOT human.
    8. A youtube celebrity voices the bear.
    9. My own voice is supplied by the creator of the show--both Spanish and English dubs.

I've never heard of this one.
