    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

The Mystery Cartoon Character Game, now with 20% more ongoing.

This is Daffy Duck's nephew or clone or whatever. I think his name is Penrod or Nimrod or Rodney. Basically, a Little Lord Fauntleroy wannabe. From Yankee Doodle Daffy.

Yes this is a little duck that Daffy wants Porky to give him an audition. His name is Sleepy Lagoon and he can sing opera like a pro. Little guy needs a cough drop afterwards though--it's hard to keep that range up.:)

Nice. :) And here I go in the baddie section again. Somebody lock me up.

    1) This character occurs in a regularly televised animated series that's still in production. He's not in every episode, but he's definitely a canon character.

    2) A Bad Guy for sure. Not as bad as he used to be, because age has worn him down some, but still heartless and unfeeling.

    3) This character was so bad at one point that he was murdered. Ker-plop, dead. He didn't stay dead, though.

    Intermediate clues time.

    4) Technically, this character isn't one of the main ones; he's a secondary character. However, he's also the main character's boss, so tough cookies.

    5) This character has always had a sidekick / personal assistant. At first, when this character was patently Evil, his sidekick tended to be a voice of reason. Nowadays, addled by age, this character has a Hyper Competent Sidekick.

    6) This character already has enough wealth and power to eradicate the town, which he's tried to do once or twice. He was compelled to hire a safety officer to keep such disasters from happening. His choice for this role pretty much guarantees that a catastrophe will happen.

Um, Montgomery Burns, maybe? Homer Simpson's boss at the Springfield nuclear plant? Got shot in a parody of "Who shot J.R. Ewing" from Dallas? Waylon Smithers as his personal assistant?

Oh, well, another one for the unguessed pile.

Hate to admit it, but since I'm not a devoted Simpsons fan, I have no knowledge of how their episodes played out.

Ah, then I'd better stick to feature films.

    1) This character occurs only once to date in a completely animated feature film. He survives to the end of the story, so he could recur.

    2) This character is definitely a Good Guy, a fact that's often pointed out in-universe, like a Hero With Good Publicity.

    3) Despite being the goodest of the Good Guy characters, he's not the one who makes everything right again. He was helpful, certainly, but not nearly enough to resolve the crisis at hand.

I can't check the list on my trusty laptop, so it's definitely a male character from "The Incredibles."

    Intermediate clues time.

    4) While this is an entirely CGI feature, it is not a Pixar production.

    5) While he's not normally a buffoon / clownish fellow, this character does succeed in making 'em laugh.

    6) And, in keeping with the Happy Ending philosophy, this character finds himself a gorgeous lady and marries her. Awwww. :)

    Cupcake clues time.

    7) Walt Disney Pictures

    8) Magic hammer, but not Mjolnir.

    9) The title character is his adversary, and also his rescuer.

Yes, saved from the brick pile by Glowworm, it's Fix-It Felix from Walt Disney Pictures' Wreck-It Ralph. The make-'em-laugh part refers to himself and Sergeant Calhoun getting out of the chocolate pit by exploiting the Laffy Taffy. These two characters have a happy ending wedding after the cy-bugs are eliminated.

Yeah, didn't want you to hit another wall!
    Anyhow, here's one.
    1. I fall for a female of a completely different species.
    2. She's surprisingly graceful for such a large creature.
    3. My cronies seem more interested in her for food reasons, I immediately scare them all away.

    4. Did I mention that I'm a reptile and she's a mammal?
    5. We are part of a classic classical music movie.
    6. The girl I love is a prima ballerina.

Correct, to go with Hyacinth the Hippo. Apparently, Ben Ali has a thing for Big Beautiful Woman--or in this case, Big Beautiful Hippos. :)

Thanks, Glowworm. Now to move once again into untapped territory:

    1. I'm a villainess bent on conquering a planet.

    2. I destroy many, including the title hero's parents.

    3. My voice actress most famously played one who tried to seduce a graduate.
