    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

    Intermediate clues time.

    4) This character is human, as are two of his three associates.

    5) This character has an Evil Boss. The Evil Boss in turn has an Eviler Boss. Misery flows downhill, y'know.

    6) Acrophobia is the fear of heights, and this character has it bad. In fact, if it's a phobia of any kind, this character likely has it. As his Evil Boss points out once, "He's afraid of his own shadow."

For some reason, I thought he was already on the list. Since I was wrong, I'll supply the answer. It's Zilly, from "Dastardly And Muttley In Their Flying Machines."

Yes, this is Zilly of the Vulture Squadron from Hanna-Barbera's Dastardly And Muttley In Their Flying Machines, the theme song for which is "Stop That Pigeon." Zilly is the only one who can translate Klunk-speak into English, so despite his cowardice, he's part of the squadron. Good responding, Em. :)

Thanks, OUB. Now how about this one:

    1. I'm one of two girls in the band.

    2. My hobby is hogging the spotlight.

    3. I call the title character "blubberhead."

I expected this one to be a n0-brainer. So here are three more clues:

    4. My bandmates and I live and perform underwater.

    5. I play the tambourine, and have long black hair.

    6. At the end of each episode, I get kisses from the title character.

This is a no-brainer, and I thought someone else would get this one yesterday.
This is Shelly I believe from Jabberjaw. I've actually never seen a full episode of the show, but they used to show this really awesome short on Cartoon Network when I was a lot younger.

Yes, Glowworm, Shelly's the girl I had in mind. All clues are self-explanatory, so you go again. Good job. :).

Got one after watching what I needed to watch to give out some clues.
    1. In this Valentines day special, I'm the female of a pair of star-crossed lovers.
    2. However, we don't come from feuding families, we come from a pair of competing companies.
    3. Oh, and unlike the star-crossed lovers from the original play--we do get a happy ending.

    I know all about this one. It's Julie-8, from Nelvana's "Rome-O and Julie-8."

    1. Self-explanatory.

    2. This couple is a pair of robots.

    3. Self-explanatory again.

Yep--that's the one. Thought I'd give it a watch--not nearly as good as The Devil and Daniel Mouse though.

Thanks, Glowworm. Now for one who isn't on the list yet:

    1. My movie is now 75 years old.

    2. I'm a prince, but not a human one.

    3. I learn to move on after tragically losing a parent.

Walt Disney's allegedly favorite feature, Bambi, son of the Prince of the Forest, which makes him a prince as well.

Cool. :) Oh, fixing time, and it's with a character that gets lovey-dovey, goo-goo eyes for a while. Close enough.

    1) This character appears only once to date in a completely animated feature film. He survives to the end of the story, though there were some close calls that almost made him dead.

    2) This character is a human male, about high school age, working a summer job. He's not especially buff, but he's cute. Cute enough to fascinate a flighty female at any rate.

    3) Much like Romeo and Juliet, these two lovebirds share some intimate time together. Nothing above PG-13, of course. Sadly, their romance has to end: they're from different worlds on the same planet.

    Intermediate clues time, buckle up.

    4) Although this character is human, that puts him in the minority. There are a goodly number of non-humans loose in this story.

    5) Perhaps romance was too strong a word. This character certainly gets charmed by the pretty girl, but she already has a boyfriend. The boyfriend stops by to point out this fact.

    6) Despite the animosity, the boyfriend actually helps this character get where he needs to go. Understandable, since this character is trying to save the boyfriend's home from being leveled.

This must be Zak from Fern Gully--the extra clues cinched it.

Yes, this is Zak from Fai Films' Ferngully The Last Rainforest. He catches the eye of the fairy Krysta, whose interest in Zak is closer to finding a unicorn: fairies to that point thought humans had gone extinct long ago. The boyfriend character is Pips, a pan-pipe playing gadabout. Pips doesn't like Zak, but he's practical enough to help Zak attain the control room of the Leveler, so that Zak can switch off the machine's engine. Good cinching, Glow. :)
