    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

The Mystery Cartoon Character Game, now with 20% more ongoing.

Two days later, and I still can't figure it out.

Already! How time flies, especially when it's aiming to bulldoze me into my grave. Anyway...

    4) This character and his boss might well have continued their Starscream / Megatron stalemate had not two visitors showed up out of the blue to effectively jiggle the equation.

    5) What a bad boss this character is. He gets one faithful minion that follows orders as best his humble intellect will allow, and what does he get? Dumped into a cauldron as an ingredient in an evil potion. Thanks, boss.

    6) You'd think someone as powerful and exalted as this character would be able to read. Maybe he can, though his book of Evil Magic has no text just pictures. Spellcasting for kindergarteners?

The only character I thought it would be, I now have to rule out, since he doesn't match the clues.

    And the cupcake clues:

    7) This character debuted on Friday 31 March 2000.

    8) Wrong continent to be related to the Conqueror of Asia. Or Captain Kirk's sworn nemesis.

    9) Armand Assante supplies that Smug Snakey voice.

Can't let this one go unguessed. It's Tzekel-Kan, from "The Road To El Dorado."

And you didn't; this is indeed Tzekel-Kan from The Road To El Dorado. He's the high priest of the city, while Chief is, well, the chief. They have differing notions of how things should be done: the Chief favors a laissez-faire policy, while T.K. likes the more proactive and sanguine purge approach. Good save, Em, take your rightful +1 and control of the board. :)

Thanks, OUB. I have the perfect one for today:

    1. I'm a skinny little guy from a black and white short produced by a pair of brothers.

    2. I run for President against an unlikely female candidate way back in 1932.

    3. I have the same name as a mysterious alien entity from a live action sci-fi show about a space traveling family.

Yep. You got it right, Salty. Good job. :). Now to explain:

The first two clues are self-explanatory. As for clue three, Mr. Nobody was an alien from "Lost In Space," who had no physical body. Penny met him, but couldn't convince the others he was real.

So step up to the podium, and take your turn.

Took a while, but I finally got one together.

I first appeared in a movie, then on TV.
I become a proud owner of a group of toys,
One I particularly like. Just like his original owner.

    Here are the last three.

I'm first seen at a daycare.
In a TV special, I'm on a road trip with my mom.
We stop at a hotel where my toys get stolen.

Oh, this is Bonnie, the little girl from Pixar's Toy Story 3. She's lucky enough to inherit Andy's toys now that he's on his way to college.

Yes, it Bonnie. She was also on Toy Story of Terror, and Toy Story That Time Forgot.

There must be something wrong with me. Saltyboot picks a nice, pleasant Good Girl character. Me, I'm picking a greedy, rotten Bad Guy character. Where's a psychologist when I need one?

    1) This character appears in a regularly televised animated series that's no longer in production. The studio that produced him, however, is still standing.

    2) This character is the Bad Guy of the series, and he has two recurring minions at his disposal. However, this character isn't the Supreme Boss; he's more like the regional director for nefarious operations.

2a) In the pilot episode, this Regional Director gets demoted to Janitor for his failure.

    3) The heroes in this series are not human, nor is this Bad Guy character. Both are from different worlds: the Good Guys are here as refugees, the Bad Guy is here on business, Evil Business.

    Intermediate clues time.

    4) Though he wears a disguise, this character gets unmasked when his personal odor betrays him. This should not be a surprise, considering his name.

    5) His mission to loot the Earth down to the bone is accomplished through good ol' capitalism. This character runs a corporation that's pretty much Loot & Plunder, LLC.

    6) This character poses as the classic suit-and-tie executive, with a Mad Scientist and an oily mechanic as his principal minions.

Indeed it is Old Fishbreath, Lawrence Limburger from Marvel Productions' Biker Mice From Mars. He's a walking fish that wears a human suit to pose as "one of us." That's a winner, Em. :)

Thanks, OUB. Since I'm out of town for the Rhode Island Comicon, and in between holidays, I decided to post this untapped one:

    1. I'm a woman who takes after my cousin in the worst possible way.

    2. I'm one of many created by the Energizer Bunny of comic books.

    3. Another of my allies was popular enough to have his own Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon.

    Last three clues:

    4. I guess you could call me the Queen of Green.

    5. I've only been around since 1980.

    6. Like my male cousin, you'd better not make me angry.
