    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

The Mystery Cartoon Character Game, now with 20% more ongoing.

    Goodie, it's fixing time. :)

    1) This character appears in a completely animated cartoon series that's no longer in production. The studio that produced it is still standing, so ... maybe?

    2) The closest associate of this character has already been plucked as a Mystery Character; fair is fair, so this is the other half of the main character duo.

    3) This character is not human. Walks upright, lives in a suburban house, goes to school, and generally interacts with humans, but is not one herself. Oh, and one more human trait: she dons a colorful spandex outfit, and goes off super-hero-ing, or whatever it's called. Complete with battle cry, too.

Sure thing, coming right up ...

    4) Just in case the gendered pronoun wasn't a clue, this character is female. Her name is also reserved for girls, the way "hen" would be.

    5) This character has a brother, who shares title billing with her.

    6) Neither this character nor her brother are especially bright, so they're often easy pickings for the series's principal adversary, despite his signature color.

Yup, this is Cow, created by David Feiss, from the Cartoon Cartoon segment of Cartoon Network that later launched the series Cow And Chicken. "Supercow al rescate!"

Thanks, OUB. Now to venture once again into untapped territory:

    1. I'm no ordinary redhead.

    2. My students, cat, and I have a unique way to travel.

    3. My friends and I are joined by the one who wished that he had Jesse's girl.

This sounds like Miss Frizzle from The Magic School Bus series. Kindly remind me: which one was Dexy?

Wrong. This animated series actually preceded "The Magic School Bus."

    Last three clues:

    4. Officially, in my first appearance, I met six siblings from a classic prime time sitcom, along with their dog, magical mynah, and pandas. In fact, the magic bird was a friend of mine.

    5. My animated series came from the same studio that introduced an overweight guy, an animated spinoff of a sci-fi series, and a genuine He-Man.

    6. In the series mentioned in clue 4, my new friends and I traveled to Africa to rescue my cat, who'd been turned into a hippo!

I think this is from The Brady Bunch that was animated by Filmation Studios. I remember the pandas, both Chinese, patently useless, and jabbered to each other in faux Mandarin. I think the mynah bird was the Token Evil Teammate, more likely to cause problems than to help solve them. Somewhere down the line, some of the Sabrina universe trickled in, so the Bradys developed a case of Shoo Out the Scientists. But I'd have to cheat and use Yahoo to home in on the target character. So far, I'm trying to play using my rusty, cobwebbed grey matter alone. The dust in there is incredible.

This is Miss Tickle from a show called "Mission:Magic!"
BTW, I am celebrating Rosh Hashanah and while I unfortunately will not be able to go to synagogue this year for the next two days,( My mother has been quite sick although she has been slowly and steadily recovering) I would like someone else to take my turn tonight.
    Thank you.

Glowworm, you got it. Good job. :). Now to explain the clues:

    1. She's a redhead.

    2. She and the Adventurers Club traveled to other dimensions and even forward in time whenever she brought a cat statue to life and drew a magic door on the blackboard.

    3. The group was joined by an animated Rick Springfield and his owl Ptolemy long before he topped the charts with "Jesse's Girl."

    4. Her first appearance was in the "Brady Kids" episode "Teacher's Pet."

    5. "Mission Magic" was produced by Filmation, which produced the more successful "Fat Albert And The Cosby Kids," "Star Trek: The Animated Series," and "He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe."

I won't take another turn, so I leave it up to Saltyboot or OUB.

I'm going to take my turn after all, since no one else has claimed it, and I am done with the holiday.
    1. I am a character only seen in the very beginning of a movie.
    2. The reason I am only seen in the beginning is because I meet a gruesome demise.
    3. I am not the diamond in the rough.

Got it. It's Gazeem, from Disney's Aladdin. All three clues are more than a little self-explanatory.

Correct, this is Gazeem, the thief who supplies Jafar with the other half of the scarab in order to reach the Cave of Wonders. Gazeem is suppose to get the lamp for Jafar in return for whatever other treasure is inside the cave, but because he does not fit the Cave's rules of being "The diamond in the rough", the Cave swallows him alive before dissolving into sand once more.
You almost feel kind of sorry for the poor guy despite the fact that he clearly cut a few throats in order to get his hands on the other half of that scarab for Jafar.
