    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

The Mystery Cartoon Character Game, now with 20% more ongoing.

Perhaps these clues will clear up the haze:

    4. Just like Zootopia, my movie has not one human character.

    5. I'm named after the sound my kind makes.

    6. However, it's spelled differently.

I think I got it. It's Lady Kluck from Robin Hood.

Yes, Salty, it's her. Now to explain the clues:

    1. She's a hen, and therefore shouldn't be Maid Marian's friend.

    2. When Skippy, his sisters , and Toby Turtle stray into the courtyard, she plays Prince John to Skippy's Robin Hood.

Clues 3-6 are all self-explanatory, so it's your turn again. Good job. :)

Great, but FYI I'm not home and can't get a character together. I'll have to post one tomorrow.

    OK, I got one together.

I appeared once in a movie.
I am a parody of a famous live action character.
My name does not reflect my size.

Can't say I know this one. Besides, there are so many famous live action characters, I could never pick the right one.

Uh-oh, brick lobbing time. Old habits die hard.

    L. B. Mammoth, head of Mammoth Studios from Mark Dindal's Cats Don't Dance. Despite the name Mammoth, L. B. isn't much taller than child star Darla Dimple. He's also an Affectionate Parody character of MGM Studios honcho Louis B Meyer.

That was a very good brick, but this is not the character I had in mind. I'll post three more.

I'm a tiny animal from a recent movie.
    My henchmen are HUGE.
I was interrupted during my daughter's wedding day festivities.

That's right, it's the arctic shrew Mr. Big from Zootopia.

    Time to take your turn.

Thanks, Salty. Now let's try for one that's really gone untapped:

    1. I'm the new one on the block, so to speak.

    2. I move in with one of the main characters, and make a nuisance of myself.

    3. He and I eventually end up where we'd rather not be.

Ok, let's hope these three clues clinch it:

    4. I'm bigger than my room mate.

    5. He and I are threatened by a cute bunny, a tattooed pig, a crocodile, and a deadly, venomous snake.

    6. I return to the home of my previous owner a bit too late.

I thought so, but was a bit busy this morning. It's Duke from "The Secret Life of Pets."

Yes, Glowworm, it's Duke. Now for the clues:

    1. Katie brings him home to be Max's "brother."

    2. He does start out as a bit troublesome.

    3. He and Max are caught by animal control, then move on to the sewers.

    4. Self-explanatory.

    5. Snowball and his followers, the Flushed Pets, are anything but friendly.

    6. Duke finds his old home, only to be told by a cat that his ex-owner Fred passed away sometime ago.

So you're up again, Glowworm. Good job. :)

    1. We are a trio of brothers.
    2. We generally pick on our runt brother and attempt to steal the fruits and vegetables.
    3. Our theme song is a rock version of "Hall of the Mountain King."

I looked up "Hall Of The Mountain King" and couldn't find the tune's use as the cartoon's theme song.

I'm going to say it's Mort, Wart, and Gort. The older brothers of Orson Pig.

Yes, these are Mort, Wart and Gort from the U.S.Acres/ Orson's Farm segments of Garfield and Friends.
The third clue is in regards to the fact that most of the time, whenever the brothers appear, a rock version of "Hall of the Mountain King" is heard.

    Great. Here's mine.

I was King of the land.
When I left this country for another one, I thought I would remain King.
    Boy was I wrong.

I haven't a clue. The only characters who might fit the clues I decided to rule out, no pun intended.
