You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

So I just started getting into the Sonic franchise. Don't really care much for playing the games but I am watching the cutscenes on YoUTube and starting to read the comics.

Along with all that I started to watch the Sonic X anime. I'm 22 episodes in and my general thoughts so far are these

    1. The dub isn't as bad as a lot of people say. (surprise surprise) So far most of the voices are unremarkable but of course I adore Dan Green as Knuckles. I also like Ortiz as Amy. I know a lot of people don't like Ms. Ortiz but I think she fits Amy's fiery yet comedic character really well.

    2. Speaking of which, from what little I knew of each character's personality and stuff, I figured Knuckles would be my favorite character. And I was right. The episodes with him have been the best so far. So I'm glad he got the best voice.

    3. Sonic is a really bland protagonist... I'm used to not liking main characters though. But there is a real problem with him in this series. He has an unfailing pattern of taking off then showing up and beating Eggman or whoever else is the villain.

Now from an out-of-universe view, it's clear they are just shoving the hero out of the picture to create drama. But when you think about it from an in-universe perspective it makes Sonic look like a totally selfish jerk. His friends get attacked every day and he has no compunction about leaving them or flatly refusing stuff like cell phones so the can call him in case of emergency.

    4. Aside from a few episodes this show has been...average. I got a long way to go still I know which is why I'm sticking with it. Shows like this need time to get really going.

    5. Eggman is pretty...not threatening as a villain. Funny though. Reminds me a lot of the old Sonic cartoon; the one where Urkel voiced Sonic. This Robotnik even has two whacky robot sidekicks like in that version.

So yeah, anyone else here watched Sonic X? Thoughts on my...thoughts?
