You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Did you know that all of the "Gems" segments on Hanna-Barbera's Richie Rich series were based upon the single-page stories adapted from the Richie Rich comic books?

Two such segments, each lasting 30 seconds, were seen in the first two seasons of the show as shared with Scooby and Scrappy-Doo.

After Scooby left and Richie found company in the 1982-83 season alongside Pac-Man and The Little Rascals, only one Gems segment was now shown, and then for the 1983-84 season, when Monchhichis replaced Pac-Man, and Richie Rich's segments were reduced to just a Zillion-Dollar Adventure, no Gems segment was seen at all.

These short segments did have a title, all of them from the single-page stories from the Richie Rich comic books, but were barely made mention of in syndicated literature.

List of Gems segment titles in season 1:
    1x01: "Reggie's Pet Monkey" / "Dollar's Itch"
1x02: "Richie's Tan" / "Richie and the Baseball Diamonds"
1x03: "Richie's Stuffed Pillows" / "Richie and the Wishing Well"
    1x04: "Professor Keenbean's Super Computer"
    1x05: "Richie's Art Gallery"
1x06: "Richie's Camping Trip" / "Richie Feeds His Goldfish"
    1x07: "Gloria's Birthday"
    1x08: "Richie's Birdhouse" / "Richie's Lunch Bag"
1x09: "The New Telephone" / "The Allmobile"
1x10: "Richie on a Game Show"
    1x11: "Richie's Artificial Planet"
1x12: "Richie and Gloria Go to the Movies" / "Richie's Farm"
1x13: "Leaky Ceiling" / "Guitar Case"

    Season 2:
    2x01: "Richie's Wind-Up Toys"
2x02: "Mrs. Rich Plays a Video Game"
    2x03: "Dollar Braces Up"
2x04: "Reggie and the Golf Ball" / "Richie and the Giant Band-Aid" / "Richie's Robot Milkshake Maker"
2x05: "Richie's New Car" / "Richie and the Robin's Nest"
2x06: "Richie and the Diamond Mine" / "Irona and the Robots Clean the Yard"
2x07: "Richie and the Drive-In Movie" / "Freckles Plays Croquet"

All additions and corrections to the above are welcome! I wish we could find out the exact titles for the rest of the unnamed Gems segments.

I appreciate that you have shared such interesting information. The show was among my favorites and those 30 seconds clips & Zillion Dollar was a fascinating thing to me as a kid.

Actually, I did see Episode 9 not that long ago, and the episode titled "The Allmobile" was actually "Richie's Artificial Planet", a rare Gems segment based on a two-page story that was republished in Richie Rich Best of the Years Digest #6, published earlier in 1980.

"The Allmobile" was actually a five-page story that wasn't republished until 1982, just weeks before Harvey Comics originally ceased publication.

Most of the segments seen in Richie Rich cartoons were based on stories that were recently published at the time of production. The Season 4 episodes were based on stories published in late-1981 or 1982, I believe.

Also, Episode 4 in Season 2 had four Gems segments, oddly enough. The one that was missing was "Richie's Jellybeans"

Here are some Gems segments from the third season:

    "Gloria and the Money Plant"
    "Richie and the Ball Room"
    "Richie's Coin Flipper"
    "Richie's Sugar Bowl"
    "The Giant Black Pearl"
    "Robot Bug Guards"
    "Richie's Cube"
    "Reggie's New Camera"

The above eight were rebroadcast in syndication, but there were five more that aired on ABC but were not rebroadcast in syndication. Two of them are confirmed, from Eps. 9 and 12 respectively:

    "Richie's Toy Jet"
    "Wind Up Mr. Rich"

I do recall there being a Gems segment ("Gloria's Gift Box") with Gloria receiving a gift box which was made of white chocolate. I am not sure if that was from Episode 10 or 11, but most likely one of the two.
