Hot Rod Son (One Cab's Family)

I am looking for the name of a cartoon that I remember as a kid. It is about a dad that is a taxi cab. He has a son and the son has the choice of being a taxi cab or a hot rod. He chooses the hot rod and to make it short he (the son) races a train and crashes. In the car hospital the doctors give him the chance to be a taxi or a hot rod. He chooses the taxi cab body(that makes dad very happy) with the hot rod engine, that dad does not know about. I would love to get the name and maby a copy of the cartoon. Help Please.

One Cab's Family (dir. Tex Avery; MGM, 1952)

An old cab and his wife have a baby boy car in hopes that he'll grow up and be a cab like his old man. But being young, the little car wants to be a hot rod instead. The little car races around against his father's wishes until he gets into trouble racing a train. His life barely saved by his dad but it is not without consequences. His dad gets put in the mechanic hospital. While he is making his recovery, the son shows his dad that he wants to be a cab just like his dad. The only thing is that he keeps all his racing mods.


One Cab's Family is in Tex Avery -- Coffret 4, a Zone 2 four-DVD set available only in France. Unfortunately, this set has been met with scorn by critics -- and demands for refunds by purchasers -- due to the heavy censorship of the cartoons in the video release.
