You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

peabody.jpg DreamWorks Mr. Peabody & Sherman has a new clip for you to judge it by. The film, which is due out in theaters on March seventh, is a film based on Jay Wards’ Peabody’s Improbable History, a segment on the long-running Saturday morning series Rocky and His Friends. Long fodder for theatrical films, the show has spawned at least two theatrical films– three if you count the related George of the Jungle.
Directed by Rob Minkoff (The Lion King), the film follows up on the beloved, bespectacled dog and his pet boy, updated for the 21st century. Mr. Peabody is the world’s smartest person, who happens to be a dog. He and his “pet” boy Sherman discover that someone has stolen their time-traveling WABAC machine and is changing moments in history to disastrous and comical results. It’s up to this most unexpected of father-son teams to somehow put a stop to this villain before his actions destroy the space-time continuum.

The 120 minute feature stars Ty Burrell as Mr. Peabody and Max Charles as his boy Sherman. Take a listen to the scene and see how well you think they have the voices down.

The theatrical release will be accompanied by a new Rocky and Bullwinkle Short. Other production stills are available on the BCDB Mr. Peabody & Sherman page.

I'd encountered the earlier trailer elsewhere online. I give Dreamworks credit: they've kept Mister Peabody and his boy Sherman on-model and in-character. Of course, there's going to be fun galore when someone uses Time Travel to "edit" history. Naturally, Mister Peabody could do this, because he knows what he's doing, namely steering key people and events back on course.

The one thing that bothered me is that the instigator of these shenanigans is a girl. It might be excusable if this were a toddler fooling with the knobs mindlessly, unaware of the probable consequences. However, this is a knowledgeable and willful young lady doing the historic editing. I'm not sure if Dreamworks is completely aware of how sexist this looks: girls are mischievous minkies that monkey-wrench the system, and boys are the heroes that rush to the rescue and set the world aright. While they're at it, they could adjust Congress so that the 19th Amendment goes unratified. Twenty-five amendments are plenty.

Text in magenta is spoken facetiously.
