    Other Side Of Maleficent

    I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

    The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

Bicentennial cartoon special

    This was 1976 and I was 5 so it's far too long ago to remember everything. I believe it aired in May or June, but could have been July for all I know. I seem to recall a Sunday airing and it was at least an hour long.

    Newspaper strips were animated in this special that were usually not animated. Included Broom Hilda and possibly either Beetle Bailey or Hagar the Horrible. Don't think there was a bicentennial theme in the main cartoons.

    The "we'll be right back after these messages" clip was firework rockets flying around and bursting against a black background. To my 5-year-old eyes it looked like spaceships.

    Pretty sure it was on a (US) network, but I live in Chicago if that helps.

    Thanks for the effort anyway. Sadly, it had to be 1976 as it was a Bicentennial theme and had the animated rockets and everything. Plus it inspired me to start drawing spaceships a whole year before Star Wars came out (part of why I would like to see it again).
