You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Up To The Challenge.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't watch an animated series about heroic robots back in 1984. But I'd also be lying if I said that show was "Challenge Of The Gobots(I watched "Mighty Orbots" instead).

All I really know is that this series aired at a time when sci-fi cartoons and action figures were taking the country by storm. Hanna-Barbera clearly didn't want to be left out of the loop when they debuted this series based on a line of toys from Tonka. I'll never know why I didn't have a yearning for this. Maybe it's because I regarded Tonka products as being strictly for boys. My little brother owned a wide variety of them back in the day. But anyway, I get the feeling I didn't miss much.

Then, two years later, these metallic heroes came to the big screen in....

"Gobots: Battle Of The Rock Lords." If this one came to theaters in Boston and Newburgh, I can't remember where it played, or if it came at all. I did recently see part of it online, and it looked rather impressive, given its rather short box office run.

So there you have my thoughts about all things Gobot.

Trivia Question 16: True Or False. The Gobots never befriended any humans.

"The Transformers" premiered in 1983 as a weekend-only series and then new weekday episodes were added in 1984 with the same premise of robots that can change into familiar looking vehicles and metallic animal forms. After the success of the "Transformers", the Gobots can only be considered as a copycat premise by many.

The good and bad Transformers robots can be distinguished by their respective Autobot and Decepticon symbols on their bodies in both original robot and vehicle/animal modes. The Gobots had no identifying symbol to tell the good robots apart from the bad robots unless they happen to stand next to or take orders from their respective leaders, Leader-1 (voice of Lou Richards) for the good guy Guardians and Cy-Kill (Bernard Erhard) for the bad guy Renegades.

Joining Leader-1 in most of the episodes are robots Turbo (Arthur Burghardt) and Scooter (Frank Welker). On Cy-Kill's side were Crasher (Marilyn Lightstone) and Cop-Tur (Bob Holt). The humans helping the Guardians were Matt Hunter (Morgan Paull), AJ (Leslie Speights), and Nick (Sparky Marcus). The Renegades' human ally in their evil plans was Dr. Braxis (Rene Auberjonois).

Several voice actors did perform in both Transformers and Gobots series including Peter Cullen, Frank Welker, Arthur Burghardt, Alan Oppenheimer, Phillip Lewis Clarke, and Paul Eiding.
