You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Japanese composer Hiroshi Miyagawa, best-known for penning the theme of the 1974 anime series Uchu Senkan Yamato, died at his Tokyo home early Tuesday, three days after his 75th birthday.

Miyagawa died of heart failure, his family said.

Uchu Senkan Yamato was known in English as Space Battleship Yamato. Itwas also known as Cosmoship Yamato and Space Cruiser Yamato, and in the United States as Star Blazers.

A native of Hokkaido, Miyagawa was born on March 18, 1931. He became a pianist for a jazz band after he graduated from university. During the pioneering era of TV in Japan in the early 1960s, he became well-known as a composer and arranger.

He composed his first hit song, "Koi no Bakansu" ("Love Vacation"), which the popular female twin singer duo "The Peanuts" performed in 1963. The Peanuts also sang his "Una Sera Di Tokyo" in 1964, winning him the Japan Record Award that year.

Miyagawa was long associated with the Yamato saga. His work was in the series Space Battleship Yamato 2 (1978) and Space Battleship Yamato III (1980).

He also composed for the 1978 movie Arrivederci, Yamato (also known as Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato: In the Name of Love), the 1979 TV-movie Space Battleship Yamato: The New Voyage (aka Yamato: The New Journey), and the movies Be Forever, Yamato (1980) and Final Yamato (1983). The last title proved to be a misnomer, as Miyagawa's music was also in the direct-to-video Dai Yamato zero gô (2004).

Other anime productions included the 1985 movie Odin -- Koshi Hansen Starlight (also known as Odin, Odin -- Photon Ship Starlight and Odin: Photon Space Sailer Starlight) and the 1979 TV series Uchi Kubo Blue Noah (also titled Thundersub and Space Carrier Blue Noah), both by Westcape Corporation.

He provided the theme music for the four-episode original anime video Tenamonya Voyagers (1999). Miyagawa composed for such live-action movies as Ghidrah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964).

He conducted NHK's New Year's Eve music show, Kohaku Utagassen (Red and White Song Contest).
