    Other Side Of Maleficent

    I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

    The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Fireflies rush to usher in spring?

    As a kid (late 80s/early 90s) I loved watching this cartoon.
    If I remember correctly, it's about a group of fireflies who needs to get to a special flower before the break of dawn on the first day of spring, otherwise spring will not come (or something along those lines).

    I remember that the style of the cartoon was very cute. The fireflies all had extremly puffy cheeks.
    There is also a caterpillar that helps the group.
    I also remember one of the fireflies being trapped in a bottle. Possibly by a boy, but she manages to free herself by twisting the lid from the inside.

    When they finally manage to get to the flower the first rays of sun hits the flower and they form a ring, holding hands and flying around the flower. I don't know if this is a fabricated memory, but I think the view zooms out to show how all the fields burst out in bloom (from the flower) or all the snow melts or something.

    I really hope someone remembers this. I've been googling and searching for a long time without success.
