You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Bob Hope (we all "hope") will reach his first century (yep, 100 years!) on May 29.

Old Ski Nose appears, in one form or another, in quite a few cartoons. Here are the "guest" appearances that I've found:

A Bout With A Trout (Little Lulu; Famous Studios, 1947)
Bob Hope is pictured (not caricatured!) in a star as Lulu’s nightmare features the song “Swingin’ On A Star.”

The Baby Sitter (Little Lulu; Famous Studios, 1947)
Babysitter Lulu finds her bratty baby charge hanging out at "The Stork Club," where she has to deal with Bob and other caricatured celebrities.

Toys Will Be Toys (Screen Songs; Famous Studios, 1947)
After business hours in a toy store, the merchandise comes to life. One of the toys is a caricature of Bob’s head. His sloped nose acts as a ski jump for other toys!

Popeye’s 20th Anniversary (Popeye the Sailor, Famous Studios, 1954)
Bob (in caricature) is the MC as all of the Paramount movie stars turn out for an award ceremony honoring Popeye's 20 years as a cartoon star.

Lisa the Beauty Queen (The Simpsons; Film Roman, Gracie Films, 1992)
    Bob guest-voices as “Himself.”

For those who are wondering, Famous Studios cartoons were distributed by Paramount Studios, where Bob Hope had a long-running contract. That explains all those guest shots in Famous Studios toons!

Any other cartoon appearances by ol' Rob out there?

    Thanks for the memory, Bob!
