    Other Side Of Maleficent

    I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

    The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

Abe Vigoda of "Barney Miller" dies at 94 (really!)

    Abe Vigoda dies — sad-eyed character actor had wide-ranging roles - SFGate

    Actor best known as the aging New York City police detective Phil Fish in the tv series "Barney Miller". He starred in a spin-off series "Fish" as the retired detective who raises several foster teenagers including Denise Miller and Todd Bridges in the cast.

    Appeared in the film "The Godfather" as the Corleone Family lieutenant Tessio who betrays Michael Corleone and is sent out to be killed at the end. Vigoda made a cameo appearance in "The Godfather Part II" and supplied his voice as Tessio in various "Godfather" computer games . Vigoda also appeared in the films "Look Who's Talking", "Joe Vs. The Volcano", "North" and "Good Burger." Vigoda played the voice of mobster Salvatore Valestra in the animated film "Batman: Mask of the Phastasm".

    Vigoda was jokingly rumored to have died in recent years in various online and print news media but was relatively healthy and acting until spending his last years of his life at a nursing home. Died from natural causes.
