Animated TV Special similar to Jokebook?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone might have recollection of an old broadcast television cartoon special, that would have aired around the late 1970's to early 1980's. Similar to the 1982 Hanna-Barbera "Jokebook", which I found referenced elsewhere on this form.

It was an animated anthology/sketch comedy, probably a bit adult in nature, also like "Jokebook". There was a scene I remember at the end of the show, which was a version of the old doctor joke about a shy woman who asks the doctor to turn off the lights so she can undress. When she asks, "where shall I put my clothes?", the doctor responds, "on top of mine". (Cue laugh track)

From everything I have looked up, this is a scene that would have fit perfectly in that 1982 Jokebook series. But I have watched 2 of the episodes that aired, and read about the third one, and none of them have this doctor sketch.

The other thing is, and I could be misremembering, I thought the cartoon was more of a Mad Magazine or even Crumb in style. I never imagined it would be from HB, which is another reason I don't think it was Jokebook.

If this sounds remotely familiar to anyone, it has been bugging me recently. The show would have aired in a primetime slot during the week, nearly 40 years ago.

I have a possible lead, although it's a stretch. The Ajax-Farrell comic book series "Madhouse", that ran from 1954 to 1957


This was one of many imitators of Mad Magazine at that time. It featured the same type of satire and parody and offbeat humor. Now the question is, could it be there was a television program produced some twenty to twenty-five years later? If not directly a version of this comic, then something imitating its style? This is the kind of art, and short gags I remember watching. Anther thought is, maybe there was a cartoon made in the 60's or early 70's and it was a rerun I had seen on TV. I'll keep looking.
