Last Golden Girl Dies.

Sad news this New Year's Eve. Betty White, the last surviving cast member of TV's The Golden Girls, has died at age 99.

Ms. White was a veteran actress. She starred in The Mary Tyler Moore Show, was a regular panelist on the 1970's iteration of Match Game, and in early 1983, hosted her own game show, the short-lived Just Men! Two years later, she landed the role of Rose Nylund on The Golden Girls, which lasted seven seasons on NBC. Her co-stars were Bea Arthur, Rue McClanahan, and Estelle Getty, all of whom were also veteran actresses. After the shows was cancelled, there was a spinoff called The Golden Palace, which also starred White, McClanahan, and Getty. Later, there was a movie called Forever Golden. Ms. White continued acting long after her three castmates passed away.

RIP, Ms. White. You truly left your mark on American television.
