You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

The Art Institute of California -- San Francisco now offers a Master of Fine Arts degree in computer animation.

Since its inception in January, the MFA degree in computer animation offers a forum for advanced study and rigorous discourse, integrating art history, criticism, and advanced studio exploration and experimentation. The MFA program caters to people currently in the creative field, or teachers looking to increase their skill set or keep on top of the industry.

The Master of Fine Arts will enable creative professionals to achieve a higher level of creative achievement. "Our Master of Fine Arts in Computer Animation offers a solution for those struggling to be more competitive in the market place," comments Caren Meghreblian, Dean of Academic Affairs for The Art Institute of California -- San Francisco. "This Master of Fine Arts is proof of the creative evolution and commitment to education, offering another avenue for those desiring a higher level of professional and artistic accomplishment."

Building on the college's current strengths in technology, faculty and design foundations, the hands-on master's program focuses on professionals' ability to comprehend sophisticated and advanced studies of all forms of animation, animation production and animation techniques.

The Art Institute of California -- San Francisco is one of The Art Institutes (www.artinstitutes.edu), with 32 education institutions located throughout North America, providing an important source of design, media arts, fashion and culinary arts professionals.

    Hello Dave,

I have checked the website and there're currently two areas in Animation Effects program: Media Arts & Animation degree and Visual Effects & Motion Graphics program. Is that correct? Just wanted to ask a couple of questions regarding the CARE program at The Art Institute of California. I study at Miami International University of Art & Design and I want to apply for the CARE Program. Is it possible? What do I need for this: an application letter, resume, what else?

Edit: do I also need to attach recommendation letters from the Miami International University of Art & Design professors and how many? Thanks. I'm finishing my animation project and will have some time to write my paper or a biography / narrative about myself (just in case).

My animation project is done, and I think it's one of the best results that I've had recently. I can't call myself a professional, yet, I did have a lot of practice with my mentor. I was also wondering how to start a personal statement - do I have to mention the situation in my life that changed my attitude to animation and design? And I can't remember any bright examples...
