You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

Are there any websites that you miss because for some reason or another, they just aren't around anymore?

For me, one has to be TV Tome.com. That was one of the first forums that I ever joined. The site's look and template was simplistic, but charmingly so, and I liked being able to submit information and trivial facts on to the show boards. The beginning of the end came when TV. Tome was sold to CNET and it was re-christened as TV.com. Sure, you could still submit information on the site, but it just wasn't the same. This coupled with the fact that the forums got really bad under the new ownership. I'm not sure what the cause of this was, but the new site seemed to attract spammers and trolls like a magnet, and silly fights broke out there on an almost daily basis. I tried going back there recently, and the General Animation was nearly dead. There were no interesting topics or commentaries, and no discussions that ran for more than 3 or 4 posts. At the very least, TV.com's General Animation Forum isn't unruly anymore, it's just boring as heck.

Another forum that I miss now is Teen Titans HQ, a fan site that was put together by 2 former TV.Tome members. Unfortunately, the problem with sites built around a single TV show is that the forums are only lively while the aforementioned TV show is still in production. After TT ended in 2006, there wasn't anything show related to talk about anymore. Plus, the 2 founding members of the site got too busy with their offline lives and they now only showed up occasionally. They handed the administration over to a new guy who wasn't as popular or as likable as his predecessors.

I had a guilty pleasure in reading Crush! Yiff! Destroy! This site was dedicated to shining a light on the furry community, including its seedy underbelly. It covered the debauchery that plagued Confurence 8, 9 and 10, and named names of the chief instigators. It might have been a blast if they'd lived long enough to cover Rainfurrest 2014, but that didn't happen. The site took lurid amusement in poking the furry critters with a stick.

I thought it was a blast. The site's admin was Mitch, not sure what his last name was. Oddly, one of their articles was about Mitch Biero, who had such a crush on Minerva Mink that he "married" her in a public ceremony. Minerva was, of course, someone in an elaborate fursuit costume. This even triggered WB animator Shawn Keller to whip off a sketch of Minerva in a dressing robe, holding a sign that read "Sorry, Fat boy. This mink is still single." Another article detailed the arrest of a man possessing "supremely naughty pictures." The man also had two complete fursuits, and was the campaign manager for a congressional candidate.

Other contributors were Computolio, The New Meat, Weird Guy in the Corner, and a December 2nd article from Marie Claire. CYD regards furry-dom less as a fanbase similar to Trekkies, and more like a cult similar to Heaven's Gate.

The Big Chuck and Lil' John site...it once had a forum page and I would post things on there. Most of it was Cleveland related.
