You WIll Need To Reset Your Password!!!

We just moved hosts on this system, and this has caused a few updates. One is the way we encode and store the encoded passwords.

Your old passwords will NOT work. You will need to reset your password. This is normal. Just click on reset password from the log in screen. Should be smooth as silk to do...

    Sorry for the hassle.

    Other Side Of Maleficent

I have been looking forward to Maleficent with equal amounts of anticipation and dread. On one hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, so cold and so pure, and I want desperately to see more of her and her back-story. On the other hand, she is easily my favorite Disney villain, and I would hate to see her parodied, taken lightly or ultimately destroyed in a film that does not understand this great character. The good news is that this film almost gets it right; but that is also the bad news.

    Disney To Feast In France

The follow up to Disney’s 2013 Academy Award Winning short Paperman has been announced, and it will premiere at France’s Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Titled The Feast, the short looks to be based on the same stylized CG techniques used on last years Paperman, a more natural and hand-drawn look to computer animation.

    Renegades of Animation: Pat Sullivan

Pat Sullivan became famous worldwide for his creation of Felix the Cat. What most animation histories gloss over is Sullivan’s checkered past and longtime standing as a wildcat renegade. He didn’t follow the rules. And he made damn sure to fully protect his intellectual properties.

    ~ Howdy, Folks!
Does anybody out there remember Bosko Video's "Inside Termite Terrace"? This series of VHS videos came out in mid-1980's and was put together by Dave Butler. They contained many of the early rare Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies. Some of the cartoons were public domain prints and in pretty bad shape. But this was easily over-looked for the vintage Bosko, Foxy, Piggy, and Goopy Gear cartoons found therein. The best thing about these titles were the Schlesinger Studio home movies included at the end of each tape. We see down-hearted Warner animators dragging themselves into work in the morning, only to leave at hyper-speed when the days over. Also a good clip of the stripper rotoscoped by Avery for his travelogue cartoons!

I didn't know about the VHS series, however the Schlesinger Studio home movies are on the LT Golden Collections. I really enjoy those and they are clever.

    ~ Hey, Saltyboot!

Is this the same LT Golden Collections available in various DVD configurations? The Schlesinger Studio home movies are classic by themselves and very instructive. Some are just for fun but you can see others were used over and over for animation reference. Tex Avery leans over a table and pounds his fists down and shakes his head will exclaiming, "I can't do it! I just can't do it!". Tex used that shot in various travel cartoons!

Yep, the same ones. They are spread throughout the 6 volumes. For example, the Porky "blooper" reel is found on volume 4.

Ah, the famous Porky "blooper" reel! I remember seeing this back in the mid-1980's on the old Nite Flight program. I did'nt have my VHS recorder on at the time and all my buddies said I was "out of my mind" and it never really happened. (ha-ha)

Well, thank goodness for YouTube. That's where I saw this clip for the first time (many years ago).
